Here it is!!

Introducing my new website to help teachers to flip: flip.mrsburton.com

Flipped Class Resources

Welcome to my Flipped Classroom page!  If you are here, you are probably looking for resources that you could use to impliment the Flipped Method in your classroom.  My story goes like this:

I started flipped to help my level 2 French students improve their scores.  My curriculum has so much grammar that I was having a hard time fitting in the lectures and valuable practice or reinforement.  In October of 2011, my husband sent me an email with the YouTube video that you see below.  That metaphorical light bulb went off! I saw flipping as an answer to all of those problems.  I spent months researching and reading everything that I could.  In January of 2012, I started to run a flipped classroom.   After many tech trials and classroom trials, I believe that I finally have a method that works.  When flipped lessons are paired with effective cooperative learning activities, great success is sure to follow.

I would love to answer any questions that you have.  Please feel free to contact me if you would like answers.  Also, if you’d like to see other things that I am doing, you can check out my blog: http://mmeburton.blogspot.com/.

The first thing that I would stress is to use Cornell notes!!  This style of note-taking reinforces critical thinking skills.  My students take notes while watching the video, we, in class, write a summary and three questions in order to review the information.  IT IS A GAME CHANGER!!
